Maumelle Park

Leaving Memphis we drove through some really sad looking neighborhoods. Lots of garbage along the roads and 100s of tires thrown in the woods not far from the park. We saw lots of lowlands flooded on our drive to Little Rock, Arkansas. We are now a bit west at Maumelle Park. A spacious campground right on the river. Sine it’s an Army Corps of Engineers campground, we paid only $12. Our site is right at the edge of the river. Hiked all around the park. Watched a bunch of local kids on an Easter egg hunt in a field. Lots of families picnicking on Easter Sunday.

Big boat launch ramp also. River is pretty brown from all the rain. Not surprising considering all the plowed fields we saw today.

Some good sized boats at the covered docks next door.

The paved trail in the woods behind the campground.
